Warning lights are described in EN 50191 in connection with high voltages. This standard (unfortunately only valid in Europe) requires warning lights to be present in workplaces with voltages of 1,000 V and above. These red and green lights indicate the status of high voltage generation in the test panel. If the red light is active, high voltage can generally be generated. However, this does not necessarily mean that high voltage is present. If the green light is active, this confirms that there is definitely no high voltage present and being generated. The warning light is solely for the protection of the test personnel and must not be confused with the test result "Good" or "Fault".
